Each year for the past 28 years, world-renowned artist P. Buckley Moss has created an original watercolor especially for WVPT—Virginia's Public Television. Each year, prints of the original are made and sold exclusively through WVPT to support the broadcast of culturally enriching programs and series on WVPT. Known as "The People's Artist," P. Buckley Moss is a patron of the arts and is a champion for children with learning disabilities.
"Winter’s Peace" is a special print created by artist P. Buckley Moss exclusively for WVPT—Virginia’s Public Television. This print features a lovely and serene winter scene complete with the artist’s signature flowing lines and symbolism. The landscape is created with a palette of the cool blues of winter and exudes the calm of a new-fallen snow. The flowing lines of the trees are reflected in the surface of the ice-covered pond. The nearby Canadian Geese, which mate for life, symbolize the artist’s emphasis on strong family connections. Moss’ signature black tree, with long, arching branches extending beyond the scene, symbolizes the honor she gives to God in all of her work. And, a curious little red bird exclaims his enthusiasm for a new day as he sits atop a tree branch surveying those who stop to look at the tranquil scene.
