"Off to School" P. Buckley Moss Print 2007

This exclusive, limited edition print signed by P. Buckley Moss is one of only 351 prints produced for WVPT. This print is only available at WVPT.
Each year for the past 27 years, world-renowned artist P. Buckley Moss has created an original watercolor especially for WVPT—Virginia's Public Television. Each year, prints of the original are made and sold exclusively through WVPT to support the broadcast of culturally enriching programs and series on WVPT. Known as "The People's Artist," P. Buckley Moss is a patron of the arts and is a champion for children with learning disabili\ties.
"Off To School" is the third and final print in the triptych series entitled Lifelong Learning created by artist P. Buckley Moss exclusively for WVPT—Virginia’s Public Television. A triptych is a series of three images that are hung together to form a complete scene. (The 2005 print—“North Mountain Academy”—is the anchor of the triptych. The 2006 print “Morning Recess” should be hung to the left and “Off to School” should be hung to the right of “North Mountain Academy.”) The three may be presented together or separately. This print features a father driving his daughter to school in a horse and buggy along a roadway adjacent to an apple orchard. Moss' unique and distinctive style brings a special warmth to this scene. Together, the triptych features a one-room schoolhouse nestled in a rural scene with children playing nearby, a parent delivering his child to school and a rustic cabin home located just beyond the schoolyard.
