Each year for the past 27 years, world-renowned artist P. Buckley Moss has created an original watercolor especially for WVPT—Virginia's Public Television. Each year, prints of the original are made and sold exclusively through WVPT to support the broadcast of culturally enriching programs and series on WVPT. Known as "The People's Artist," P. Buckley Moss is a patron of the arts and is a champion for children with learning disabili\ties.
"Natural Chimneys" is the second of four prints in the Natural Landmarks of Virginia series that artist P. Buckley Moss created exclusively for WVPT—Virginia’s Public Television. This lovely picture depicts children playing ring-around-the-rosie with Natural Chimneys in the background. Over time, forces of nature have carefully etched out these awe-inspiring formations from solid rock. Natural Chimneys tower as much as 120 feet above the pastoral terrain of the Shenandoah Valley, offering onlookers a sight unrivaled in majesty. The formations resemble enormous chimneys standing in bleak contrast to the greenery of the Valley.
