Analog TV ends in:
By law, free, over-the-air television is changing from traditional analog broadcasting to digital technology. The transition is to free up bandwidth for use by emergency responders and to provide viewers with enhanced television picture and sound quality. Don’t take a chance on losing your television signal in February 2009! Prepare for the transition today so you can enjoy WVPT’s digital channels.
Because all analog television broadcasts will end February 17, 2009 some older TV sets will need an upgrade to receive digital broadcasts.

Don't let this happen! There are three options to receive digital television:
Option 1
Viewers with existing analog TV sets that receive television signals with “rabbit ears” or an outdoor antenna will need to purchase a new digital converter box.
Option 2
Viewers may purchase a new digital TV with a built-in digital tuner and use an existing antenna.
Option 3
Viewers may use an existing analog TV or a new digital TV with a digital subscription to a cable or satellite service provider. |
Congress created the TV Converter Box Coupon Program for households that wish to continue using their analog TV sets after February 17, 2009. If you need to purchase a new digital converter box, you may receive from the government a maximum of two $40 coupons per household toward the purchase of eligible converter boxes. The coupons are available between now and March 31, 2009, while supplies last. Converter boxes are each typically priced at $90 or less. Coupons expire after 90 days from the date they are mailed to households.
