Hook talks with prolific author and noted historian Darwin Lambert, Shenandoah National Park's first employee, who remembers both MacKaye and Avery. Hook also talks with Earl Shaffer, the first thru-hiker, shortly before Shaffer's death in April 2002. Running Time: 30 minutes
